Mathison, Dukes rally past Mudhens

MIESVILLE, Minn. - Todd Mathison knocked a two-out, three-run triple to cap a five-run ninth inning as Dundas collected a 8-7 win over host Miesville in Classic Cannon Valley League play on Sunday.

Mathison finished 3-for-5 at the plate with four RBI. He also pitched the last three innings, including a perfect ninth, to pick up the win.

The Dukes had four hits and a pair of walks in the ninth. Robin Moore drew a walk to open the frame before a Josh Maus single. Javy Guevara and Mike Ludwig collected run scoring singles, and Tyler Jones a walk before Mathison's triple.

Josh Camp went 3-for-4 to lead Miesville, which scored six unanswered to take a 6-2 lead. Camp and Matt Vanderbosch, who went 2-for-4, each scored three runs.

Dundas hosts the St. Paul Roosters on Wednesday and Highland Park on Friday in a pair of non-league games. The Dukes return to CCVL play on Sunday at Cannon Falls and host Northfield on Monday at 2 p.m.
