Mike Max of WCCO to Host Bill Nelson and Dave Hartmann

The Mike Max show, “Sports to the Max” will again be host to a series of informal chats on amateur baseball throughout Minnesota. The first presentation will be this Friday, June 13 from 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. Mike will host state board member Dave Hartmann of Belle Plaine and Bill Nelson of Dundas.

David is in his second term on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Association. He has played for Arlington, Dundas and Burnsville and also coached the Arlington amateur team. His teams won three state titles (two with Arlington and one with Dundas). He attended Arlington-Green Isle High School and St. John’s College. While at St. John’s he was a starter on the Johnnies 1974 MIAC Baseball Championship team.

Nelson attended Albert Lea High School and Augsburg College. He played for the Hayward Hotshots, Dick’s Place, Burnsville Bobcats and Dundas Dukes. He is presently the Manager of the Dundas Dukes. In 2006 he was awarded the Mike Downes award for “Contributions to MN Amateur Baseball” and in 2007 he was inducted into the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. His Dundas Dukes have won four state amateur titles.

This will be the first of approximately five evenings throughout the summer with Mike Max. Of course the show is broadcast on WCCO, 830 on your am dial.
