Miesville 'Hens Peck Dukes 6-2
The Dukes travelled to Miesville Sunday and gave the Mudhens a good game, but fell short when two bases loaded innings ended up for naught. Miesville opened the scoring by scoring one in the second and two in the third. The Dukes came right back and scored two in the top of the fourth when MIke Ludwig singled in Javy Guevara and Carson Jones. That would be all the scoring for the Dukes even though they loaded the bases in the sixth and seventh. Strikeouts ended both innings. Miesville scored three runs in the sixth on a two out rally. Otto doubled and Scott Werner singled off the infield umpire to leave runners at first and second. On the next pitch, Matt Vanderbosch hit a three run HR over the right field fence. Deuth took the loss for the Dukes pitching seven innings giving up all six runs while walking four and striking out five.
