Angels slip past Dukes 6-5

Angels logoThe Dukes let one slip through their fingers Friday night at Memorial Park.  After taking a 4-1 lead in the first inning the Dukes would score only one more run the rest of the way.  Josh Maus led the first off with a triple and scored on Rich Bordas' sac fly to center.  Carson Jones singled, Javy Guevara singled, Doug Sylvester singled in Jones and Mike Ludwig doubled in Guevara.  Sylvester scored by an error by the Angels third baseman for the final run in the first.

In the top of the fifth the Angels scored three runs to tie the score off of the Dukes' starter Andy Dimick.  The Dukes came back in the bottom of the inning on a Guevara single and Ludwig RBI double.  Then the Angels scored two more in the eighth off Chris Purcell to end the scoring for the night.  Dundas had a chance in the bottom of the eighth, however, Carson Jones grounded out to Shortstop with the bases loaded to end the threat.  Ludwig and Sylvester each had three hits on the night and finished with two.
