Walk-off single caps big night for Maus as Dukes beat Hastings 2-1
May 8, 2011 - DUNDAS, Minn. - Josh Maus went 3-for-4 with a walk-off single as Dundas scored a 2-1 Classic Cannon Valley League win over Hastings on Sunday evening at Memorial Park.
Maus drove in Pat Wadzinski, who led off the ninth with a double and was moved to third on a bunt by Charlie Ruud. Ruud had a nice night himself, going 2-for-3 with a game-tying single in the sixth. Wadzinski was 2-for-4.
David Pfeffer was 3-for-4 to lead Hastings (0-1, 0-1 CCVL), who struck for an unearned run in the third inning.
Dundas starter Todd Mathison struck out nine, walked none and scattered seven hits in eight innings of work. He gave way to Matt Neuger, who worked a scoreless ninth to get the victory.
Adam Barta tossed the first six innings for Hastings, giving up a run on six hits while striking out three. Colin Brackeen threw two scoreless innings of relief before Mark Moriarty pitched the ninth.
Dundas hosts the Minneapolis Angels for Community Resource Bank Orange Night on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
