Express holds off Dukes 4-3
JULY 23, 2010 - ELKO, Minn.  - Elko claimed a 4-3 win over visiting Dundas on Friday night.

Trailing 3-2, the Express scored twice in the sixth inning to take the lead and then stranded four Dundas baserunners in the final three innings to seal the win.  The Dukes' Carson Jones led off the ninth with a double but -- after Brandon Rolloff's sacrifice bunt -- Mike Ludwig and Steve Loos struck out to end the game.

Ludwig went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in the third inning that gave Dundas (31-9) the lead. Tyler Jones and Rich Bordas each added two hits for the Dukes.

Elko was paced by Jeremy Chaln and Ash Larsen, who each went 2-for-4 in the victory.

Dundas hosts Hastings on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. in the Dukes' final CCVL game. With a win or a Hastings loss to Miesville on Monday, the Dukes would be the third seed in the upcoming Section 1B playoffs.
