Dundas loses three-run lead in ninth to fall at Hampton, 9-8
MAY 23, 2010 - HAMPTON, Minn. - Hampton scored four times in the bottom of the ninth inning to claim a 9-8 Classic Cannon Valley win over visiting Dundas on Sunday afternoon.
The Cardinals rallied with three walks and three singles to overcome the 8-5 deficit in the walk-off win.
Mitch Johnson went 3-for-4 and Alex Harrington 3-for-5 for Hampton, which led 2-0 and 4-1 early in the game.
The Dukes scored twice in the fifth and twice in the seventh, on a two-run homer from Steve Loos, to lead 5-4. Hampton tied the game in the bottom of the seventh before the Dukes plated three runs in the eighth, helped by Loos' run-scoring double to lead 8-5.
Loos was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and Brandon Rolloff 2-for-5 with a pair of run-scoring hits. Tyler Jones, Mike Ludwig and Carson Jones also added two-hit efforts, going 2-for-5 each in the loss.
The Dukes play host to Air Freight Unlimited tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. The game can be heard on 1080 AM, KYMN.
