Dukes hold off Albert's Gators to move to 4-0
MAY 2, 2010 - DUNDAS, Minn. - Dundas took advantage of four Albert's Gators errors in the fourth inning on the way to a 7-5 non-league win on Sunday night at Memorial Park.
The Dukes were outhit by the Gators 8-5 but made no errors and had a five-inning, 10-strikeout game from Charlie Ruud to get the win.
The Gators mounted a late comeback with a three-run ninth, but Jeremiah Leiviska stranded the tying run aboard by striking out the game's final batter.
Greg Brandt had a two-run single in the four-run fourth inning while Sam Maus, Josh Maus and Javy Guevara each drove in a run.
Albert's was led by two-hit games from Joel Brettingen, who doubled in two runs with two outs in the ninth, and Paul Odegaard.
Dundas is off until next Sunday when it opens Classic Cannon Valley League play at Cannon Falls at 2 p.m.
